War of words broke out in KP assembly when opposition leader, Maulana Lutfur Rehman of JUI-F, used abusive language against women who take part in PTI’s sit-in against Nawaz Sharif government. “All women go there to dance in front of men”, said Lutfur Rehman.
Tehreek-e-Insaf members objected to this derogatory remarks by Lutfur Rehman. Female members termed Maulana’s remarks as an insult to all women of Pakistan and said it showed his sick mentality.
Members of PTI walked out of the assembly and chanted Go Nawaz Go and Diesel Diesel slogans. While members of opposition chanted Go Imran Go slogans.
PTI minister Shah Farman while talking to media persons said that he was extremely saddened over Lutfur Rehman’s abusive language against women. “Maulana’s remarks in an insult to all women of Pakistan who comprise 52% of the country”, he said.
“Where is it written that females could not take part in political protests?”, asked Shah Farman. “Women from all walks of life take part in PTI’s dharna in Islamabad and it is their constitutional right to do so”, he further said.
It is not the first time that someone has used abusive language against PTI’s women workers. JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has continuously been using such derogatory language against women in his rallies.
