Following supreme court orders, an FIR has been logged against chairman SECP Zafar Hijazi. He is accused of tempering with company records of rule Sharif family.

The JIT in its complaint to supreme court had said that Mr. Zafar Hijazi was obstructing access to information and had tempered with records of the companies owned by Sharif family.

The supreme court in turn ordered FIA to investigate this issue. The FIA team after investigation found that the SECP Chief had forced his subordinates to temper the said records. The FIA in its report recommended filing an FIR against Mr. Hijazi.

The supreme court in its hearing of the Panama case today ordered filing an FIR against the SECP chief. Also, his name has been recommended to be added into the Exit Control List.

FIA has reportedly tasked a team to arrest Mr. Hijazi. However, sources close to Mr. Hijazi state that he will apply for a bail before arrest and contest the case to clear his name.
