Famous Indian actor Anupam Kher said he was upset over denial of his visa request by Pakistan. It is the second time in a year that his visa request has been denied. He was invited to participate in a literature festival here in Karachi.
Mr. Kher was among the 18 Indians invited to the four-day literature festival in Karachi. He, however, was the only one who has been denied a visa, claimed Mr. Kher on his facebook page.
“I have been informed that Pakistan MoFA has denied permission for my visa to participate in the Karachi Literature festival. Sad to have been denied visa on second time in a year. While around 17 people will participate in the Karachi Literature Festival as guests.”, read a statement on Mr. Kher’s official facebook page.
“Has my visa been denied because I speak about India’s rich tradition of tolerance or I am a Kashmiri Pandit who may expose Pak terror nexus?”, further read the statement.
However, head of media at Pakistan’s High Commission, Mr. Manzoor Memon said Mr. Kher had never submitted visa application to Pakistan High Commission.
“If he has not even submitted his visa application that how could we discuss denying him visa?”, wondered Mr. Memon.
