Arsalan Iftikhar, the notorious son of former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, was handed over copies of references filed against PTI (Tehreek-e-Insaf) Chief Imran Khan by late Sher Afgan Niazi and MQM’s Babar Ghauri.

Arsalan Iftikhar sought the copies as he intends to file his own reference against Imran Khan to disqualify him from his national assembly seat. Imran Khan had criticized Arsalan Iftikhar after he was made vice chairman of Balochistan Board of Investment.

Arsalan had claimed his appointment was on merit and neither his father nor Nawaz Sharif had anything to do with his appointment. However this claim was refuted by Balochistan National Party President Hasil Bazinjo through a statement.

“The decision by our provincial chief minister Dr. Malik Baloch to appoint Arsalan Iftikhar was totally wrong”, Mr. Bazinjo had said.

Moreover, BNP President went on to say that Arsalan’s father, former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, had actually expressed his desire for his son’s appointment on that post.
