Huge explosions in China left 40 killed and hundreds injured including 12 firefighters.

According to the reports, the explosion at warehouse in the northeastern Chinese city of Tianjin, was so huge that it could be seen from the satellites. The explosion killed at least 44 people, including 12 firefighters, while more than 500 people have been hospitalized.

“I thought it was an earthquake, so I rushed downstairs without my shoes on. Only once I was outside did I realize it was an explosion. There was huge fireball in the sky with thick clouds. Everybody could see it”, Zhang Siyu, the resident of Tianjin and whose home is several kilometers from the blast site, told the Associated Press.

According to the website of the company, its main business is shipping dangerous goods at the Tianjin port. Reports said, the city’s fire department first received reports about fire at the warehouse at 10:50 p.m.
