FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) has formally arrested former President Pervez Musharraf at his house at Chak Shehzad which was earlier made a sub-jail. Yesterday the bail request of Pervez Musharraf was not accepted by the Lahore High Court in the Benazir Bhutto case. FIA said that earlier warrants against the former General were still active as his bail request has been turned down now.
According to sources, Pervez Musharraf was asked tough questions by the FIA team. They asked him if he had threatened Benazir Bhutto? They also asked him questions about the inadequate security provided to her. Pervez Musharraf however turned down all these questions as baseless allegations.
FIA is going to ask for physical remand of the former President from the court. If granted, it is going to be the first ever time that a former Chief of Army, and a President is going to be handed over for a physical remand.
