- Texan husband wrote moving email to photographer about wife’s retouch
- Photoshopped images reminded him to ‘celebrate all her imperfectness’
- Victoria Halton shared the letter on her company website and it’s gone viral
A husband from Texas USA wrote a heart touching letter to a photographer who did a sexy shoot of his wife complaining that she had Photoshopped out all her flaws.
Moved by his response, Victoria Halton of Victoria Caroline Photography in San Antonio, Texas, posted the email, which included moving lines such as ‘When you took away her stretch marks, you took away the documentation of my children’, on the company’s Facebook page.
The post of the mail from the unknown man from Texas has received more than 4,000 likes and over 1,000 shares, with comments including, ‘I actually cried when reading this. I feel the same way about my wife.’
Victoria explained in the post that the woman she had photographed was in her mid-40s and a size 18 (UK size 14).
‘I thought she looked like a goddess, but as most women do, she had a request…’ wrote Victoria.
The woman asked the photographer to airbrush out all her cellulite, stretch marks, fat and wrinkles.
Surprising her husband of more than 20 years with the photos as a gift for Christmas – he says with the intention to ‘spice things up’ – she clearly wanted to look ‘perfect’.
But, the husband writes, when he opened the album, his ‘heart sank’.
‘These pictures… while they are beautiful and you are clearly a very talented photographer… they are not my wife,’ he wrote to Victoria.

‘You made every one of her ‘flaws’ disappear… and while I’m sure this is exactly what she asked you to do, it took away everything that makes up our life.
‘When you took away her stretch marks, you took away the documentation of my children.
‘When you took away her wrinkles, you took away over two decades of our laughter, and our worries.
‘When you took away her cellulite, you took away her love of baking and all the goodies we have eaten over the years.’

Victoria explained in the post that she felt horribly guilty about Photoshopping the woman, but the man was keen to emphasise he understood it was her job and, in fact, wanted to thank her.
‘Seeing these images made me realize that I honestly do not tell my wife enough how much I LOVE her and adore her just as she is.
‘She hears it so seldom, that she actually thought these Photoshopped images are what I wanted and needed her to look like.
‘I have to do better, and for the rest of my days I am going to celebrate her in all her imperfectness.
‘Thanks for the reminder.’
