“I would have stayed in Pakistan if were at Geeta’s place”, says Salman Khan

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan talked to Geeta for the first time through as Indian show ‘The Buck Stops Here’.

Geeta is a young Hindu woman in her early 20s, was around 11 years old when she crossed from India to Pakistan.

While talking to Salman Khan live,  the star first thanked Bilqis Apa for taking good care of her for all these years.

“I would first like to thank Bilquis bibi for taking care of this girl for so many years,” said Salman on the NDTV show.

“She looks so good, it’s like you took care of her like your own child. We just hope that when she comes back she receives just as much love from her parents”, he said.

When Salman Khan questioned Geeta, “They housed you since such a young age, took care of you like their own and yet you’re not happy. Why?”

She answered through a sign language that she herself wants to go to her own country and to be reunited with her family.

Salman Khan appreciated the 14 years of love and care that Edhi Foundation has given to Geeta. He said, “If I were in your place Geeta, I would have never wanted to return.”

Geeta is a big fan of Salman Khan’s recent Blockbuster ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. She has watched the movie twice already. She told Salman Khan that if I was not sent home on the plane, then she would ask him to take her home on his shoulders.

According to Bilquis Bano; despite being from a Hindu religion Geeta prays five times a day, and keeps all her Fasts. “Ram ko bhi razi rakhti thi aur Raheem ko bhi.

Until now, about 4 families have claimed to be the parents of Geeta, but she asserts not to know them. Geeta says her parents may not recognize her, but she can recognize her parents, she still remembers their faces.

The reason people are coming forward to be her parents is because of the money that will be given to her once she goes back to her family.

Faisal Edhi said, “The money is for her marriage and to take care of her once she reunites with her family.”

The government of India has taken over the case, and the search for her family is in full bloom.
