Pakistani actor Imran Abbas said he wants to choose his projects carefully after being disappointed with the box office performance of his debut Bollywood film opposite Bipasha Basu, Creature 3D. He is planning to choose wisely now.
“Every time I sign a film, I too hope for the best like others. The same happened when I signed my debut Bollywood film. So, I was upset when it didn’t get good reviews”, he said.
“However, that phase is over and I am approaching roles in a different way. Unless the story and the role appeal to me, I won’t accept it. I intend to do quality work that will make me happy. This satisfaction isn’t guided by box office results,” said a determined Imran Abbas.
Imran Abbas said that he has already signed two Hindi movies and a Pakistani project, “I would love to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rajkumar Hirani and Imtiaz Ali in Bollywood. I am a huge fan of Madhuri Dixit. I love and adore her, and would love to work with her too. Amitabh Bachchan too is on my wishlist,” Said Abbas.
The actor said that he is satisfied with his upcoming movie Jaanisaar, directed by Muzaffar Ali. Jaanisaar movie is a period drama set in the year 1877 that narrates the love story of a revolutionary courtesan.
The film stars Pakistani actor Imran Abbas and Indian fashion entrepreneur Pernia Qureshi, who will make her debut with the film. The film will be released on 7 August 2015.
“Filmgoers are open to good films and this is a no-nonsense film. Besides an appealing story, the film has also been shot beautifully. When you watch the film you will feel that you are watching a piece of art on screen,” he asserted.
