Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan addressed protesters from Karak outside his home in Bani Gala and assured them that all their fair demands will be fulfilled. Around two hundred protesters had set up Dharna outside his home to demand speedy development work for Karak region.
Imran Khan came out of his home to meet the protesters and after brief negotiations with them he announced that he would personally make sure their demands were met. “Had only four of you come to discuss your grievances with me, I still would have accepted all your fair demands”, he said while addressing the protesters.
He further said he agreed in principle that only the people of Karak should have the right to decide where the 1.5 billion royalty money of their area should be spent.
“I have called up a meeting on this issue on Saturday, and I want four of you to be present in that meeting to discuss this issue”, said PTI chief.
“All of your grievances will be solved automatically after local body elections are held in May.
“Only elected local leaders would then have the power to decide the fate of their local issues.
“I am not running the government, but my job is to oversee the government’s functioning and ensure justice”, said Imran Khan.
The protesters chanted slogans in favour of Imran Khan and Tehreek-e-Insaf when he announced all this. “I am proud of my leader; there is no one like him; he addressed our concerns like a true leader”, said Barkat Ali, a protester from Karak.
