Indian authorities have expressed their extreme displeasure over Islamabad’s decision to release Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi who they consider to be the mastermind of Mumbai attacks.
India summoned Pakistan High commissioner Abdul Basit and registered a strong protest with the Pakistan government.
“India is extremely upset with the verdict and as a first step lodged a strong protest with the Pakistan government,” the sources said.
Indian reaction came within no time of Islamabad High Court declaring Lakhvi’s detention as null and void.
India considers LeT Commander to be the mastermind of 2008 Mumbai Attacks. However, due to lack of judicial evidence, Pakistani Courts have ordered his release.
