According to reports, PIA flight PK-661 has crashed near Havelian. Famous singer turned religious scholar Junaid Jamshed is thought to have been on board the flight with his family. The plane was carrying around 40 passengers.

The flight took off from Chitral at around 3:00 PM. The plane’s communication with the control tower was broken at 4:30, shortly before its scheduled arrival time.

CAA sources confirmed a mayday call from the pilot to the control tower shortly before it lost communication with the plane.
