Amid continued tension between Indian and Pakistani forces on LoC (line of control), Indian Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has warned Pakistan of dire consequences if Pakistan continued to disregard the ceasefire agreement. “Pakistan’s continued aggression on LoC is deplorable”, said Jaitley.
Pakistan on the other hand, has rejected Indian claims of Pakistan’s aggression on LoC as baseless allegations. “We only respond to aggression on LoC and not initiate it”, said an official.
At least 13 people have lost their lives while 50 have been injured due to Indian army’s firing on Pakistani side. Indian shelling on Thursday night, cost three lives and five people got injured while early morning shelling left one woman dead in the Pasroor area.
Authorities in Pakistan have setup three camps for people fleeing the areas continually hit by shells fired by Indian army.
Pakistan’s foreign office has also issued a statement saying that Pakistan will respond to any aggression with full might. “India will pay a heavy price for her aggression on LoC”, said the statement issued by Pakistan’s foreign office.
Pakistan is an important ally of the West on war against terrorism and its army is heavily engaged on its western border fighting local and international terrorists. On 15th June, Pakistan Army started an operation named Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists in North Waziristan to clear the area from all types of terrorists.
Defence analysts say that it is not feasible for Pakistan Army to engage itself on two fronts. “Indian aggression on LoC is an attempt to put Pakistan under pressure”, said a security official on condition of anonymity.
