Money Cannot Buy Happiness

Money doesn't buy happiness

Who says the rich and poor are equal? I do not consider so. Ever heard the line, “If wealth is the secret to happiness, then the rich should be dancing on the streets, but only the poor kids do that.” This is exactly where the divergence lies.

In order to prove my point, compare the smile of a poor and wealthy. The object to be noted would be that the poor person’s smile would be priceless while the well-off’s smile would be worthless. What is the reason?

The reason, merely, is the difference of their life styles. The life of the rich is a busy and hectic one. They do not have time for their loved ones; they are not sympathetic towards each other which builds up ever growing tension in their lives.

They have to keep pace with the changing styles and fashion going around them. For that, they spend millions of their currency to buy happiness but sadly money cannot buy happiness.

On the other hand, the poor do not need such up-to-date clothing to look good. They do not require the latest gadgets to talk to their loved ones. They do not have such busy routines and can easily sit with their fellows and have a real conversation, ask about their problems and help each other.

How many poor do we see taking pills to relieve their tension? On the other hand, it is the rich who resort to psychiatric drugs due to the immense tension they feel. Money, no doubt, is what brings them to such awful condition.

Yes it is no denying the fact that poor people have problems of their own. But if we compare them with the ones the rich go through, poverty seems a blessing in disguise.

So you see; true happiness and peace-of-mind is the biggest dissimilarity between the two. Remember people, in the end our graves would be of the same size. That is where all poor and rich alike have to return, in a casket, or without it. What we leave behind is what matters.
