Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) is starting its streak of public rallies by starting off with Faisalabad Jalsa today. Around 50,000 chairs have been placed in Dhobi Ghat where the rally is taking place. “I will never leave my fight against this corrupt system in the middle”, said PAT chief Dr. Tahir ul Qadri before setting off for Faisalabad.
PAT chief also named his Faisalabad rally as ‘Faisalabad Revolution’. “Today the people will shout out to the corrupt leaders that their days of looting and plundering are over”, said Dr. Qadri.
He said that Faisalabad Jalsa will determine the future of the people of Pakistan while their rally on 19th October at Minar-e-Pakistan will open the gates of victory. “After that, revolution will reign over every inch of Pakistan”, said a flamboyant Dr. Qadri.
When asked about the possibility of a Marshal Law in Pakistan, Dr. Qadri said, “There was no fear of a Marshal Law in the beginning nor is it now”. However he further said that if a Marshal Law was enforced, it would be due to the attitude of the government.
Strong security measures have been taken by authorities. About 1000 security personnel have been deployed around the premises of Dhobi Ghat while 1500 PAT workers are tasked with maintaining security inside the rally ground. Also, walk through gates have been placed and each and everyone attending the rally is required to go through them.
