Imran Khan was shifted to Shoukat Khanam Hospital last night after stitching his head for a six inch wound in a small private hospital. The doctor of that hospital Dr. Shafiq said that his wound had not gone deep and there was no danger to his skull. After that he was rushed to Shoukat Khanam, the cancer hospital that he built, to have an MRI done inorder to root out any internal bleeding.
The tests came out clean and the Director of the Shoukat Khanum hospital said that Imran Khan was out of danger but he was admitted for atleast 24 hours to monitor his condition. It turned out that a major problem was not his head injury but the wound to his vertebral column. The doctors said that he would not be able to continue, physically, with his election campaign any furthur.
Asad Umar, an official of the PTI(Pakistan tehreek-e-insaf) party said that the movement of Imran Khan will be restricted for at least 15 days. He said that the exclusion of Imran Khan, such an energetic leader, was a major blow to the overall election campaign. However efforts will be made after consultations of all top members of the party to somehow try to fill in this gap, he said further.
Imran Khan, after finding a little bit restrain from his pain, decided to send a message to his followers and the people of Pakistan. In an exclusive interview to a private television from his ICU bed, Imran Khan asked the people of Pakistan to take initiative and vote for a better future of Pakistan. He said that in Quran Allah says that He does not change the fate of any nation unless they themselves want to change it.
Moreover, Imran Khan rejected different rumours that said there was a conspiracy in his falling off from the lifter. He said that it was just a human error. There was no conspiracy, he explained. Apparently, a personal body guard of Imran Khan tried to pull up another person on to the lifter which disturbed the equilibrium and he, along with three of his security guards, fell down.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Vice Chairman of PTI said in a press conference that Imran Khan would deliver a speech at a rally here in Islamabad. It is most likely going to be a telephonic address as the Director of Shoukat Khanum, Dr. Faisal had said that Imran Khan could deliver a speech, if he felt good.
