Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed and PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat and Chaudhry Pervez Ilahi were prevented by police from meeting PAT chief Tahirul Qadri at Faisal Town’s Marian road. They had intended to meet Dr. Qadri to finalize arrangements for Youm-e-Shuhada and 14th August Azadi March.
Earlier in a press conference, the three leaders had lambasted incumbent government for blocking roads by excavating trenches and placing containers on roads. “I urge judiciary of Pakistan to take a suo motto notice against this barbaric action of the government and order it to remove all these hurdles”, demanded Sheikh Rasheed in the press conference.
Further he said that if either Imran Khan or Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri backed down from their promises to the masses, they will have no political future after that.
Pervez Ilahi said that it doesn’t matter how many workers they arrest, “I want to assure the government that there won’t be any dearth of workers”, he had said.
While Chaudhry shujaat when asked by a reporter if there was any peaceful way to solve this political problem said, “Currently all paths lead to Islamabad only”.
On the other hand heavy clashes continue between the workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Punjab Police. According to reports one Police personnel and 8 PAT workers have lost their lives so far. While in a clash on motorway exit at Bhakkar, 10 Police vans were set on fire.
