The fantastic indie rock duo of Arctic Monkey’s frontman Alex Turner and Miles Kane have announced an additional tour date for their UK tour this summer. Right after a gig at London’s Alexandra Palace on July 15th, another one has been added at the same venue on the 16th on popular demand.
They will also play at two new European music festivals – Sweden’s Way Out West and Finland’s Flow Festival. The Swedish Way Out will take place from August 11-13 in Gothenburg, and the Flow Festival from August 12-14 in Helsinki.
After the success of the band’s first album, “The Age Of Understatement”, it was a long wait for the second one, eight years to be exact. But knowing Alex and Miles, the new album is going to be worth the wait.
Turner and Kane met all the way back in 2005 when Miles’s former band the Little Flames played support for the Arctic Monkeys. They also toured together in 2007 and that is when they decided to write some songs together (aren’t we lucky that they did?).
The new album is titled, “Everything You’ve Come To Expect” and it is going to be released on April 1st. The first single was released on January 10th titled, “Bad Habits”. The new video has a style and feel that is totally different from their previous work.
While, “My Mistakes Were Made For You” reminds you of the 60’s and has a melancholy flow, the new single on the other hand, is all about the now, like a seductive call that makes you want to put on a fur coat and get a bottle of whiskey.
Although lyrically it can not be compared to any of the songs from the first album, it is a good preview of what is to come.
