Is it too early to start planning for summer festivals? It’s not if you know where you’re going! Here are the best European festivals to be at this sunny summer.
1. Sonar Festival
This festival for music and digital art has been around for 22 years. It’s held in Fira Montjuic, Barcelona from June 16-18. This year you could watch acts like Fatboy Slim, James Blake or Stormzy.
2. Glastonbury
One of the best music festivals in the world, famous for its pyramid stage on which we have seen some of the most impressive performances in the last decade. Get your wellingtons on and be where everyone wants to be from June 22 to 26. So brush up on your British accent and let’s meet up at Glastonbury Festival!
3. Exit
An award-winning festival held at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia. I can say from personal experience that this is something you don’t want to miss. It will be taking place from July 7-10. This year you could dance to Ellie Goulding, Bastille or Wiz Kalifa.
4. Tomorrowland
Tomorrow land is as good as the name implies. It’s an electronic music festival taking place in Boom, Belgium in July (22-24). You can choose from 15 extravagantly decorated stages that make you feel like you entered into another dimension. If you want to have an experience of a life time don’t miss this festival.
5. Outlook Festival
Outlook Festival is held in Pula, Croatia (September 2-6) in nothing less than an abandoned Roman military fortress. This festival is famous for bringing the best names in the dance scene, and it is right on the Adriatic sea, so have a swim while you’re there.
6. Bestival
It’s the biggest party on the Isle of Wight (Robin Hill country park) and it marks the end of the festival season – September 8-11. With names like the Cure and Madonna the fun is guaranteed. A perfect way to say your goodbyes to summer.
