In a surprising twist of events, actress Veena Malik announced her separation from her husband Asad Khattak after 4 years of marriage. She received a court Khula decree from court, after Mr. Khattak failed to appear before court.

However, Mufti Naeem of Jamia-e-Naeemia Karachi has offered his mediation in this matter in order to amicably resolve this issue. “I have requested both Veena Malik and Asad Khattak to meet me on Thursday so that I can try and resolve their differences”, said Mufti Naeem.

Veena Malik married Asad Khattak four years ago in a marriage ceremony that spanned months. The wedding ceremony was repeated numerous times at numerous locations. Both have now two children out of their marriage.

However, the couple hit a rough patch somewhere in their relationship where Veena Malik would complain of being roughly treated by her husband. “His behaviour changed and he would emotionally hurt me”, said Veena in her Khula petition at court.

Veena’s father told media that he tried to bring sense to Asad Khattak be he wouldn’t listen.

It remains to be seen if Mufti Naeem is able to solve their differences. Asad Khattak however seems optimistic. “I am sure Mufti Naeem will solve our small differences and I will have good news for you guys soon”, he said.
